Hi! My name is Mrs. Cantrell, and I will be your third grade teacher this year. I am looking forward to an exciting year with you! I am so excited to share in this part of your educational journey. I know you are going to love third grade.
Our Classroom
Our classroom is full of opportunities to enhance learning. We will be using technology, hands on approaches, games and educational rotations to structure learning. I really believe that learning is fun, and this year I plan on having a ton of fun!
Communication
I know that communication is very important as we work together to provide an excellent learning experience. I am easily reached by the Bloomz app, email, or by the school phone during business hours. I am happy to set up conferences to discuss concerns. I have designed this class website to work as an information hub. The website will have announcements, the class calendar, an electronic copy of our newsletter, as well as updates, homework resources, and much more. I will also be sending home a folder daily with graded papers, unfinished work, updates, permission slips, etc. I welcome your thoughts and am looking forward to working together to make third grade a successful year!
Snack
Students will be given a milk break every day. Students are welcome to bring a snack in to enjoy with their milk. Please note that healthy snacks are required, we discuss how healthy foods fuel or bodies. I ask that you kindly refrain from sending in chips, cookies or candy.
Expectations
I will work to help your child set goals and achieve what he/she is capable of. I want to challenge them to grow both educationally and socially. I will create a community that encourages students to accept challenges and work to exceed their expectations. Some characteristics that describe me are enthusiastic, devoted, organized, and caring. I will always give my best and expect the same of our students. I want them to enjoy learning and come to class each day with a positive attitude. They are expected to take responsibility for their own actions, and take pride in their work. My main expectation, and wish, is that they will grow as we learn something new each day.
I look forward to seeing you very soon in our third grade classroom!
